About the Programme

This qualification was developed to produce graduates who can be productive employees in the rapidly changing programming industry. It is a concentrated course which focuses purely on software engineering. It begins with traditional techniques and swiftly moves to the latest industry standards.

The course is divided into three major sections - Programming, Analysis and Design and culminates with the Final Project. The project is the opportunity for students to showcase the skills they have acquired on the course. Starting with the client's initial instructions students design a complete project in an industry standard manner. They analyse, design and build a working programme which meets their client's specifications.

Entry Requirements
You must

  • A minimum age of 17 and have four years secondary education (NCEA 2) or be a mature student aged over 20
  • Have a National Certificate in Computing (Level 3) or complete an aptitude test
  • Be interviewed
  • Have proof of residency, citizenship or visa status
  • Have an academic IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (International students only)

Applicants whose first language is not English will be interviewed to assess their level of English competency and may be required to complete a placement indicator test.
