About the Programme

This qualification has been designed to equip people for working in the web design industry. By the time students have completed the course they will be able design an interactive web site linked to a back end database. The course is divided into three major sections, Web Site Programming, Web Site Design and culminates with the Final Project. This Final Project is a complete website designed and developed from the ground up to a specification supplied by the tutors.The website must be completed to an acceptable professional standard.

Entry Requirements
You must:

  • Be a minimum age of 16 and have four years secondary education (NCEA 2) or be a mature student aged over 20
  • Have year 11 or Form 6 Mathematics
  • Have a National Certificate in Computing (Level 3) or complete an aptitude test.
  • Have proof of residency, citizenship or visa status
  • Have an academic IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (International students only)

Applicants whose first language is not English will be interviewed to assess their level of English competency and may be required to complete a placement indicator test.
