School of Business

John de Senna - Head of School (Christchurch Campus)

John has a background in Commerce, Education and Theology and has extensive senior experience in the administrative and financial management of Not-for-Profits and commercial companies. He has spent 16 years on overseas assignment in Chile, Bolivia, and Brazil and has been a senior pastor and assistant Bible College principal. John has taught at Polytech and established a Business College and Language School in Auckland prior to establishing Vision College's School of Business.

John is a member of NZIM and has served on a number of national and local Boards in NZ and overseas. He is also experienced in radio station managment and broadcasting, and is currently undertaking a post-graduate management studies at Waikato University. John also sings in two a cappella groups.

Brian Watts - Tutor (Christchurch Campus)

Brian spent 15 years working for ANZ Bank, with much of that time in Christchurch punctuated by 3 years in Blenheim and 3.5 years in Papua New Guinea as the Senior Training Officer. After leaving ANZ he set up a business as a Corporate Training Consultant and also dabbled in Property Development. In 2000 he began working as a Courier driver and ended up buying the company. Due to the competition an other factors finished this in 2003 when he took up a short term contract as an Employment Officer and commenced work as a Computer tutor with Vision College in February 2004. Brian is now the Course Coordinator for the Certificate in Business Applications course, and the local Marketing Coordinator and STAR Coordinator.

Brian has 3 six year old sons who keep me busy and have interests in Music, Boating and Outdoors. We attend City Church Christchurch where he leads a Cell group and the Missions team as well as Coordinate the Maximise conference held jointly by the Church and the College.

Ron Temby - Tutor (Christchurch Campus)

As a tutor for the NZ Diploma in Business programme I focus on Management and Leadership. Although a computer enthusiast I passionately believe that it is the human element that makes or breaks any system.

I worked as a bible school tutor, assistant pastor, primary school teacher and principal, and polytech computer tutor before coming to Vision College, Christchurch in 2004.

I’m an active member of Burnside Elim Church. My hobbies include computing and walking. I’m married with two adult daughters.
