Laurie Bisman - Head of School (Christchurch Campus)

Laurie Bisman has worked for Vision College in Christchurch since its beginning in 2002 and is currently Head of School of I.T.

He designed the Diploma of Software Engineering and Design course and is the primary tutor. Prior to that he was at Careerlink College (bought out by ATC) in a similar role.

He has worked in teritary education full time for over 11 years and from 1980 to 1992 he was a tutor at polytechnic (CPIT - Part time). He has taught computing at all levels from 3 to 6.

Before working full time in the education industry, Laurie was a Chief Programmer for Telecom South based in Christchurch and still contracts his services to private industry.

He has been part of NZQA's accreditation team that visits tertiary organisations to confirm their quality assurance for accreditation.

He has also served on the I.T. Unit Standards panel for NZQA, which was headed by David Christie. This panel was largely responsible for writing over 200 units and having them added to the NZQA Framework.

Laurie is an executive member on the National Advisory Committee for Computing Qualifications (NACCQ) comittee, where he has served for over 13 years.

Jeffrey Hong - Course Co-ordinator (Christchurch Campus)

Prior of joining Vision College Jeffrey worked as an IT lecturer, researcher and system analyst for more than 23 years. His academic interests include Web Development using PHP, ASP.Net and JSP, Web Media Technologies, Object-Oriented System Methodologies and Parallel Computing.

Carly Jackson - Tutor (Hamilton Campus)

Carly Jackson is a tutor in web design and joined the team at Vision College in 2006. In keeping with the practice at Vision, she was employed because of her considerable practical industry experience – and an ability to impart this on her students.

Carly has returned to work after being a mum to her two children, which followed working for design studios as well as running her own successful web based business. In these, she worked on design projects for nationwide firms with household names as well as a large number of Waikato businesses.
