Electec College of Technology has merged with nationwide training provider ATC New Zealand.
Electec College has become known one of New Zealand’s premier private computer training providers delivering courses that provide students with hands-on technical skills and highly valuable, industry recognised qualifications.
ATC New Zealand is one of the country’s largest private training providers, with the Head Office located in Hamilton. It is the parent company for a number of brands, including Vision College which has large campuses in Hamilton and Christchurch. Electec College of Technology has now joined this family of ATC brands.
Dennis Chapman, Electec College Technical Director and highly successful ICT entrepreneur, is very pleased with the move to ATC New Zealand. “ATC has significant experience as a nationwide provider. They have the leverage we need to expand Electec College into other cities, such as Auckland, while continuing to deliver at the high standards we’ve become known for.”
Electec College’s highly-respected staff have remained in place, while Dennis Chapman and Electec College’s general manager Warren McLaughlin will continue to advise and support ATC.
Electec College has already moved into the Vision College Christchurch campus on Manchester St, with both colleges now operating out of the Vision College campus.
Vision College (ATC New Zealand) is one of the very few private training providers in New Zealand to offer up to degree level courses, and already delivers Level 6 IT Diplomas in Web Development and Software Engineering.
“To have Electec College as part of our company is an exciting addition to our ICT offering”, says Gary Taylor, Christchurch Campus Principal. “It’s offering under one roof a very diverse range of specific, highly-applied, technical IT skills and that is quite unique.”
The immediate benefit for Christchurch is an increase in the number of places available in Electec courses. There will now be 18 places available in the August intake of Electec College courses.
Electec College of Technology will continue to deliver its Certificate in Applied Electronics Technology, Diploma in Computer Systems and Network Administration, and comprising courses. It also continues to be an Authorised Prometric Testing Centre.
